Older cattle numbers were limited, and 2-year steers sold up to $3.00/kg.

Buyers were drawn in by a line of 150 1-year Angus steers, with King Country taking ownership at $3.60-$4.14/kg for 320-370kg. Hereford-Friesian lines sold on a steady market at $3.45/kg for 280-330kg. Friesian bull numbers were larger than usual with mainly smaller mixed quality lines. With that in mind weights varied from 210-260kg, and prices $3.25-$3.38/kg. The heifer market eased and most Hereford-Friesian lines traded for $2.85-$3.05/kg.

New season lamb numbers lifted slightly on Wednesday with three lines selling well at $80-$93.
