Vendors were pleasantly surprised with the outcome of the first sale of 2020 at Pukekohe on Saturday 11th January. Expectations had been low with continuing dry conditions, limited processing space and falling schedules, but most cattle sold at relatively good levels. Medium 15mth heifers managed $2.74-$2.80/kg. Bulls traded at $1300-$2410, for a 20c/kg discount on average trading over a range of $2.67/kg to $2.96/kg.
