It was the heavier-end of the lambs that enjoyed the better bidding, though medium lambs weren’t exactly cheap either. Good and heavy male and ram lambs were bought at $117-$129.50, whereas medium lines were mainly $101-$104. Bidders definitely weren’t as keen on the ewe lambs. Good ewe lambs made $103-$105.50 and mediums were $90.50-$99.50.
A consignment of five-year Romney ewes received a good amount of attention and sold about as well as can be expected. The two better lines were at $132.50-$141, while a smaller pen of more average quality made $102.
Virtually no prime lines were sold.
