Wet-dries increased ewe capacity to more than 1000 head. A line of 226 made top value of $158, and a further 155 earned $130, while smaller quantity lines were steady at $120-$149.
Boner cows easily dominated a small cattle sale and reflected easing schedules. Heavy Friesian and Friesian-cross fell to $2.00-$2.06/kg, while second cuts, 480-540kg, eased to average $1.90/kg.
Calf results were pleasing for the 240 head offering. Good Hereford-Friesian and Simmental-cross bulls made $260-$360, and Angus-cross and Friesian, $160-$200. Medium types sold for $100-$200 with the beef-cross at the higher end. Medium heifers showed improvement and traded at $60-$115, with good Hereford-Friesian making $130-$200.
