News that a possible La Nina weather pattern might arrive later in spring will be welcome news for those in the north and east who’ve struggled with drought in the past year.
La Nina (The Girl) typically brings more rain to those regions, which would be a fantastic recharge for subsoils that have dried out completely this year.
But it’s early days and those who depend on the elements know not to bank the rain until it’s actually fallen.
Still, even if La Nina doesn’t arrive, meteorologists reckon there’ll be a normal season ahead, which in such an abnormal year, might be a blessing in itself.
