The market was mixed at the first Taranaki dairy-beef weaner fair last Thursday. Demand was soft for Friesian bulls with most around the $400 mark. Dairy-beef bulls were more positive and Hereford-Friesian, 120-140kg, were able to reach $650-$660. The lion’s share of autumn-born weaner pens fetched $600-$650, and heifers $400-$500.
