Prime cattle numbers lowered to 72 head at Stortford Lodge last Monday, with Angus steers the main attraction. Angus and Angus-cross heifers, 485-605kg, held at $2.54-$2.57/kg, and Angus bulls, 560-830kg, $2.31-$2.35/kg.

Sheep throughput increased and heavy male lambs returned $130.50-$151. Top mixed-sex lambs had plenty of weight but couldn't maintain results from the previous sale and eased to $154-$175, though good to heavy types held at $119.50-$137.50. Heavy ewe lambs fetched $122.50-$151.

Most ewes managed steady returns. A small offering of good to very-good two-tooth ewes earned $105-$124. Top mixed-age ewes held at $134.50-$145, as did most good types at $102-$109.50, and light-medium to medium, $69.50-$94. Read more in your LivestockEye.
