Cattle were back on the menu at Stortford Lodge last Monday, albeit still at limited numbers with 22 head presented. Seven very good quality Angus steers, 704kg, managed $2.53/kg. Beef-dairy heifers, 511-590kg, returned $2.30-$2.35/kg, while traditional cows, 603kg, realised $1.54/kg, and 495kg, $1.38/kg. Heavy ewes fetched $126.50-$140, with the tail at $60-$91.50. Five wethers managed $113, with the balance of rams and cryptorchids at $77-$82. Lamb throughput was minimal with 88 penned and the balance of heavy lambs mostly held at $115.20-$120.50. A handful of heavy wether lambs realised $117.50.
