Cattle were not out in big numbers at Rangiuru last Tuesday, but all classes were represented in small amounts. The heaviest R1 pen, 390kg Friesian, sold for $905 with Charolais, 365kg, and Hereford-Friesian, 375kg, close behind at $850. The prime section numbered 76 head with the solitary heifers some Hereford-Friesian, 560kg, that attracted a price of $2.70/kg. Friesian, 416-480kg, provided the bulk of the tally and traded at $1.62-$1.69/kg.

In contrast to the cattle, sheep turned out in unusually big numbers with 700 available. Prime lambs made up to $156, with ewes topping out at $140.
