As always, farmers from around New Zealand are mobilising to provide feed and labour for affected farmers.
But the disruption is widespread and will be long-lasting. Stock sales have been cancelled and with today being Moving Day, dairy farmers looking forward to a fresh start are now stuck in limbo.
It’s not the start to the 2021-22 season many farmers were hoping for.
But if they tackle one job at a time, accept the help on offer and look out for their neighbours, slowly but surely, they’ll get through.
