There were around 400 cattle at Kaikohe last Wednesday, PGG Wrightson agent Vaughan Vujcich reported. Two-year steers were mostly Simmental-cross, Angus-cross and Hereford-cross and fetched $2.75-$2.80/kg, while Friesian-cross made $2.20/kg. Yearling beef-cross bulls earned $2.60-$2.65/kg and heifers, $2.55-$2.65/kg.
