CWT assists with 597,00lb of cheese and WMP export sales

(NEWS ALERT) Co-operatives Working Together (CWT) has accepted 8 requests for export assistance from Dairy Farmers of America, Michigan Milk Producers, and Northwest Dairy Association (Darigold) who have contracts to sell 509,268 pounds (231 tonnes) of cheddar, gouda and Monterey Jack cheese and 88,185lb (40t) of whole milk powder (WMP) to customers in Asia and Central America. The product has been contracted for delivery in the period from January through to July 2016.

So far this year, CWT has assisted member co-operatives who have contracts to sell 4.288 million pounds of cheese, 2.866m pounds of butter and 1.259m pounds of WMP to 11 countries on five continents. The sales are the equivalent of 119.253m pounds of milk on a milkfat basis.

The amounts of dairy products and related milk volumes reflect current contracts for delivery, not completed export volumes. CWT will pay export assistance to the bidders only when export and delivery of the product is verified by the submission of the required documentation.
