While August is typically a low month for Chinese imports of WMP, in August 2015 imports dropped 41% compared to August 2014. August 2015 imports have also dropped by 34% on July 2015 imports.
2015 has seen China importing significantly lower volumes of WMP than it did in 2014. Imports from January to August 2015 are 52% lower than over the same period last year – WMP imports for the year to date are just 274,683 tonnes.
