The previous fortnightly auction published no trades, the company said was due to poor supply and demand.
The sale price for unsalted butter at the February 23 auction reached a high for the online platform. Butter prices improved nearly 6% on the previously published auction a month earlier reaching Rs270/kg (US$3940/t) up from Rs255/kg (US$3740/t).
As at February 21 the Milk Market Observatory quoted butter from Oceania at US$3000/t, from EU at US$3112/t and from the US at US$4521/t. In comparison to the price movements in India, price from Oceania dropped 1.6% compared to 15 days earlier, European prices were up 3% and US prices were back 4.4%.
Skimmed milk powder traded at the DTI auction fell from the previously published auction by 3.5% to Rs 140/kg (US$2040/t) from Rs 145/kg (US$2130/t).
As at February 21 the MMO published SMP prices from Oceania at US$1813/t (no change), from EU at US$1864/t (+3.1%) and from US US$1641/t (+3.4%)
The next DTI e-auction will be held on March 8, 2016.
