It invests about $2.7 million in research and development each year.

Egan is managing director of Greenlea Premier Meats, while von Dadelszen owns a sheep and beef and dairy property in Central Hawke’s Bay. She is chairwoman of the Central Hawke’s Bay Consumer Power Trust and an independent director of New Zealand Young Farmers.

They join Dean Nikora and Barry Brook, who have been appointed for a further three-year term. The appointments were made by Primary Industries Minister Nathan Guy.

“We are very fortunate to have Tony and Sarah join the AGMARDT Board of Trustees,” Nikora, the board chairman, said.

“They have both excelled within their respective areas of agribusiness and I am sure they will make a valuable contribution to AGMARDT during their time as trustees.

“I would also like to recognise the contributions of Jeff Grant and Professor Jacqueline Rowarth, who have retired from their role as trustees after each providing six years of valuable contributions to the board.”

AGMARDT has relocated its office from Wellington to Feilding. New contact details can be found at agmardt.org.nz.
