The feature was a consignment of R2 Charolais-cross heifers, on offer due to the sale of a farm. A lack of buyers made them very good shopping, with one line of 431kg making $2.62/kg, while other lines at 398-431kg earned $2.74-$2.77/kg. Those 381-386kg made similar per head values as they sold for $2.85-$2.86/kg. Most other quality beef and beef-Friesian heifers fetched $2.68-$2.80/kg, with second cuts trailing by 5-10c/kg.

The steer market was sticky though the top lines did still manage to surpass $3.00/kg, and included one line apiece of Angus-Friesian and Hereford-Friesian at 400kg, $3.06/kg.

ngus, 332-357kg, fetched $2.90-$2.97/kg, while the remainder of the Hereford-Friesian, 435-499kg, eased to $2.83-$2.84/kg.

Weaner numbers were low and while prices were back good weights still meant that some steers sold up to $670-$755, while most heifers traded at $505-$580. One line of 203kg Hereford-Friesian heifers managed $695.

Friesian bulls, 175-208kg, made solid returns at $605-$670.
