Calves were of consistently good quality at Wairoa last Thursday, and Waikato and Hawke’s Bay buyers dominated the market. Close to 1200 calves were offered, with the majority traditionally bred.

Angus-Hereford steers made $915-$1000
Angus heifers sold for $550-$640 and Angus & Angus-Hereford, $540-$730
Exotic heifers traded at $610-$810
