Medium prime steers, 676kg, made $2.81/kg, with 562kg at $2.70/kg. Heifers fitted into that slot as 433-589kg returned $2.77-$2.85/kg. Very heavy bulls, 814kg, made $2.80/kg, and dairy, 449kg, $2.36/kg. Cow prices were very spread, with better types up to $2.24/kg, and lesser sorts, $1.45/kg.
Quality improved through the store pens and buyers were much more enthusiastic in their bids. Good 2-year steers, 459-467kg, managed $2.83-2.89/kg, and 419kg, $2.60/kg. Heifers, 375-380kg, sold to $2.60-$2.78/kg. The quality lines in the 15-month section sold well, and steers, 347kg reached $2.99/kg, and heifers, 323kg, $2.86/kg. Prices did vary for lighter crossbred lines as small 1-year steers, 270-287kg, sold for $2.40-$2.77/kg, and 270kg heifer’s $2.90/kg, while 252kg were off that pace at $2.57/kg.
Weaner prices were variable, with good steers, 90-98kg, achieving $420-$550, and small crossbred, 69-74kg, $290-$300. Heifers had good weight at 119-131kg, and sold for $405-$550, while 90kg returned $300-$390.
