Prime numbers were limited to heifers, 470-603kg, which sold for $2.64-$2.75/kg, while boner cows varied from $1.76/kg for the better types to $1.21/kg for a lighter line. Cows with calves-at-foot made $500-$1040 per unit.
Quality was chased in the store pens and a line of 487kg steers made an impressive $3.18/kg to be a feature. Other R2 steers, 452kg, returned $2.55/kg, with light crossbred heifers, 390-446kg, earning $2.48-$2.60/kg.
A mixed quality R1 section had light steers, 280-290kg, making $2.68-$2.85/kg, and heifers, 266-270kg, $2.30-$2.55/kg.
The competition picked up again in the weaner pens and crossbred steers, 160kg, made $620, and 212kg, $595. Heifers, 130-138kg, fetched $490-$640, with the lighter line making $4.90/kg.
