The cattle sale at KAIKOHE last Wednesday was on par with the previous sale, PGG Wrightson agent Vaughan Vujcich reported. R2 steers were mostly Angus, Hereford and Hereford-cross and returned $2.60-$2.65/kg, with lesser types down to around $2.50/kg. R2 heifers remained difficult to move at $2.00-$2.10/kg, and R1 Angus and Simmental-cross heifers managed $2.20/kg to $2.35/kg. R2 beef-cross and Friesian bulls lifted to $2.25-$2.35/kg. R1 bulls ranged from $2.40-$2.50/kg at the top end, with lesser types at $2.20/kg.
