Store cattle throughput dropped to just under 130 head for New Zealand Farmers Livestock at Frankton last Wednesday with most pens six head or less, though had plenty of buyers in the rostrum and online.
R2 Hereford-Friesian steers, 468kg, held at $2.84/kg. R1 Friesian bulls, 264-290kg, softened slightly to $600-$760.
Autumn-born weaner Angus-cross and Hereford-Friesian heifers, 90-100kg, were well-sought at $310-$340. Beef-dairy bulls, 82-103kg, had a good following and returned $390-$505, while Friesian, 118kg, fetched $450.
Prime Hereford-Friesian steers, 606kg, held at $2.81/kg and In-calf boner cows, 495-602kg, were keenly contested at $2.26-$2.39/kg. Read more in your LivestockEye.
