Feilding prime cattle and sheep; feeder calves 23.09

Lamb supply increased to nearly 6200 head at Feilding last Monday. Big line sizes were again a feature, especially in the mixed-sex pens where the top lines made $210-$229, and over 40% of the 3884 yarded sold for $200-$209. The 1000 ewes yarded sold well, with the best at $200-$217, while very-good to heavy lines were $160-$199.

Beef-cross pens dropped in value last week at the Manfeild Park calf sale. Hereford-Friesian bulls made $230-$255, with medium $140-$180. Good Angus-cross bulls sold for $150-$160, and medium $80-$100.
