Feilding offered up one of the last opportunities to buy breeding ewes in quantity, with nearly 20,000 entered last Thursday. The fair followed the trend of others, as top lines sold well, but other pens fell below expectations. Second cuts of 2-tooth ewes made $190-$218, and the balance varied from $151 to $186.
Five-year ewes were well off last year’s prices as the top lines made $141-$179, and the remainder, $118-$135. However, mixed-age had a good day and sold up to $198, with three other lines at $180-$186, and the rest, $138-$167.
