Just under 5000 sheep were penned at Coalgate last Thursday, with three times the usual number of store lambs. The top end was back with male pens coming out on top at $105-$110. A quarter of the yarding earned $100-$104, with the bulk $60-$88. Ewe throughput was low, and most earned $90-$124, while top cuts made $135-$160.

A yarding of 41 prime cattle was a big improvement on the three penned the previous week. Angus heifers, 545-570kg, made $2.30-$2.35/kg while Friesian heifers, 495-590kg, fetched $2.10-$2.18/kg.
