One of the largest offerings of prime cattle in the last two years was penned at Canterbury Park last Tuesday. A price cut-off based on condition was most obvious amongst the Hereford-Friesian steers as good lines of 550kg and above sold for $2.25-$2.36/kg while medium-good were $2.15-$2.25/kg. A few small lines of heifers over 480kg managed $2.15-$2.25/kg with second cuts mostly $2.00/kg to $2.14/kg. Most R2 Hereford-Friesian steers, 349-427kg, made $2.01-$2.12/kg.
