Otago will host talks on future

Otago University is cementing its move into agricultural by holding a two-day symposium on food and future production systems early next month.

Under the topic, New Zealand Agriculture in 2050: Pathways of Innovation, it will cover sustainable food production, future foods, nutrition and medicine and agritech, food quality and security.

It has 18 speakers and panel discussion on holistic farming and future foods.

“When combined, these themes should disclose how future food production systems will be sufficient to feed an increasing world population,” organisers said.

The forum is being held at the university on December 8 and 9. 

This year the university launched an applied science in agricultural innovation course covering the environment, ecology, technology, business, marketing, bioinformatics and genetics.
