Kingheim Ltd, jointly owned by Austrian and Irish interests, has been granted approval under the Government’s special forestry test “one-off purchase” process to buy nearly 1500ha in the King Country and Waikato.

The properties, as described by the Overseas Investment Office (OIO), are livestock breeding and finishing units: 566ha at Waitomo, 516ha at Pomarangai and 394ha at Huntly.

Information provided by the OIO states the majority of the land is class six, seven or eight, which it states is suitable for forestry.
