Dairy farmers have just days left to vote on the milksolids levy. It closes at 5pm on Saturday.
Reading Time: < 1 minute

About 47% of farmeers have voted so DairyNZ chairman Jim van der Poel is encouraging the rest to vote online now.

“Online voting takes only a few minutes to complete and we are keen to see farmers having their say by this Saturday,” van der Poel said.

“Southland dairy farmers have the highest voter turnout with around 50% of farmers having already cast their vote. This is closely followed by Canterbury, North Otago and the top of the South Island with around 49%. In the North Island between 43-48% of farmers have voted.

Sharemilkers also have votes.

“Their voice is important and we want them to have their say too.”

The levy will remain at 3.6c/kg MS for 2020-21.

Levypayers can vote at dairynz.co.nz/vote.

The result will be available from June 2 on the DairyNZ website.
