Head in the clouds  There’s probably not a day that goes by where a farmer somewhere wishes they could engineer the weather.
Reading Time: < 1 minute

If you go into a country pub anywhere in New Zealand on an afternoon, the chances of the weather being the main topic of conversation are high.

But in China, they’re looking at ways of changing the weather to provide more rain where it’s needed.

It sounds like science fiction but many things do right up until they happen.

Weather watchers here aren’t all that hopeful the plan will succeed and in fact think it might do more harm than good.

Still, imagine being able to dial up a summer shower to give the pasture a bit of a kick along.

Might be nice, right?

In the meantime, we should be happy in knowledge we’re farming in one of the most water-rich islands in the world.
