Ripples in political waters It’s been quite difficult to stay focused on work the past week or so with all the goings on in the United States.

Donald Trump has been impeached again following last week’s Capitol insurrection.

Even some of his own party voted for it this time.

It’s easy to think that all of this is happening a long way from New Zealand and there’s little reason to care.

But, Trump’s waged a four-year war on free trade and climate policy and has done his utmost to destabilise the globe.

These things have implications here.

Impeachment or not, America will have a new president by this time next week.

Hopefully he’ll be one that supports working together across borders to grow wealth and protect our health.
