Small lines of cattle were common in most sections, and the buying bench was local, as good grass growth continues to draw the crowd. Older steer prices firmed, with most making $2.80-$2.89/kg, while better heifers traded at $2.70-$2.76/kg.
The specially advertised line of Stabilizer consisted of 111 steers which sold in three lines. The top line at 374kg made $1165, with 321-339kg earning $1010-$1060. Hereford-Friesian, 266-335kg, made $945-$1080, and Friesian, 288-382kg, $845-$1100. Heifer numbers were low by comparison and prices softened, with beef and beef-Friesian of good weight mainly trading at $860-$990. Friesian bulls, 329-343kg, also sold on a softer market at $870-$970, while their younger brothers, 224-261kg, returned $715-$805.
