Quality was good yet again among the prime hoggets. Heavy lines made $105-$116, mediums $95-$102, lighter types $87-$94.
The majority of the prime ewes were also in good condition, selling to a steady market. Heavies made $88-$97, mediums $78-$86, light lines $70-$75.
Heavy two-tooths made $95, mediums $90, light lines $70.
The store sheep offering was dominated by ewes with lambs at foot.
Although quality was only average they still were met with solid interest, selling for $63-$77 all-counted.
A few medium condition store lambs made $55-$60.
Good grass covers through the South Island ensured strong demand throughout the very good offering of store cattle.
Two-year Hereford-Friesian and Angus steers, 400-460kg, made $2.95-$3.04/kg; Hereford heifers, 383kg, $1060, $2.77/kg.
Yearling Angus steers, 258kg, sold very well at $950, $3.69/kg.
Yearling Angus heifers, 285kg, were also popular at $960, $3.37/kg.
