USDA Cold Storage Report – February 2015

The volumes of cheese and butter in cold storage in the US increased during February.

Volumes of cheese had increased 2% from the previous month, while volumes of butter had increased by 20% from the previous month. Cheese volumes had increased by 5% from the previous year, butter volumes had increased 4% from last year.

Volumes of both were above those of February 2014, and while the volume of cheese in storage was above the five year average for February the volume of butter in storage was lower. The volume of butter in storage was just 0.4% below the volume in storage at February 2013, which was the highest it had been in February since at least 2007.
