An air of hesitancy was felt at Temuka last Thursday due to the continued dry weather. Yearling steers were of mixed quality, illustrated by Angus and Angus-cross, 302-371kg, at $1.91-$1.99/kg.  Angus-Hereford heifers, 324kg, earned $2.77/kg, but other heifers were dairy types, 204-278kg, that ranged from $1.02/kg to $1.91/kg. No weaner steers could crack $400, with the best Charolais-cross, 104kg, at $360 with the top heifers a pair of Angus-Hereford, 168kg, that earned $420.
