A big volume of dairy cows at Temuka last Monday were mostly over 475kg and sold over the tight band of $1.43-$1.55/kg. Hereford-Friesian steers, 500-685kg, made up half of their class and fetched $2.48-$2.61/kg. Hereford-Friesian heifers, 507-574kg, earned $2.51-$2.57/kg. Merino and other fine-wool types were the main feature of the store sheep. The best performing was a pen of ewes that made $131, while others were $74-$100. Large numbers of ewes with lambs-at-foot made $60-$86 all counted. Read more in your LivestockEye.
