Plenty of cattle came out of the woodwork last Monday for the biggest prime yarding at Temuka since September. High yielding traditional and Charolais-cross steers sold to keen interest and earned $2.60-$2.70/kg with heavy heifers $2.50-$2.60/kg. Over 50 Friesian bulls, 466-685kg, sold well at $2.58-$2.67/kg. Boner cows, 513-694kg, traded in the $1.86-$1.96/kg range. Over 250 ewes earned $200-$270 while medium to heavy pens were $140-$197.
