A lift in pasture growth helped encourage a few more buyers to the Taranaki cattle sale last Wednesday. Older cattle were very limited and the top end of the 3-year steers earned $2.81/kg. A large portion of the offering were yearlings and steers typically sold in two ranges of $2.85-$2.96/kg and $2.67-$2.74/kg, with heifers mostly at $2.48-$2.57/kg.
