Just over 250 store cattle were offered to a local bench of buyers at Taranaki last Wednesday. R3 steers consisted of special entry Angus-Friesian, 531-587kg, which sold at $2.57-$2.65/kg, and 410kg Hereford-Friesian heifers realised $2.44/kg. R2 owner bred Speckle Park-cross steers fetched a premium at $2.82/kg, with the next cut of more beef-types at $2.62-$2.73/kg.
