Cattle throughput increased to 112 head at Stortford Lodge last Monday, and a consignment of annual draft Angus steers and heifers showed improved returns. Second cuts of Angus heifers, 438-458kg, held at $2.55-$2.56/kg.
Strong demand for sheep meant most held or firmed. Top male lambs improved to $170, while similar weighted mixed-sex lines held at $162.50-$165. Heavy ewe lambs strengthened to $162, with medium-good steady at $111.
Heavy mixed-age ewes eased slightly to $123.50-$129.50. Good to very-good ewes held at $107-$121, as did light-medium at $79-$86, though there was little demand for light types at $40-$61.
