An increased yarding of ewes was presented at Stortford Lodge last Monday. Very good to heavy mixed-age ewes improved to $140.50-$151.50. Heavy cryptorchid 2-tooths fetched $147. Hogget and lamb numbers reduced to 574 and new season lambs were well-received at $128-$156.50. Hoggets met good demand and very-heavy mixed-sex improved to $150.50-$163, while heavy types held at $130-$138.50. Very heavy ewe hoggets strengthened to $178-$179.50 with the top end of heavy types at $145-$160. Twenty-six prime cattle were offered and ten very good Angus steers, 619kg, returned $2.98/kg and all heifers, 473-615kg, managed $2.70-$2.81/kg. Read more in your LivestockEye.
