The 54-hectare farm is fully self-contained with everything grown and grazed onsite using cultural, biological and mechanical methods that are sustainable, humane and non-polluting, Karl Davis of Bayleys Hamilton says.

“This is an organically certified dairy farm which is committed to environmentally sound management.

“It has developed QA systems to meet the USDA National Organic Programme.”

The farm milks 84 cows with production for 2013-14 at 20,548kg milksolids (MS). In the previous year stock produced 20,998kg MS.

Bore water and a deep well pump provide water sources. The surface HP pump was replaced in 2013.

The property has post and batten fencing. Internal fencing is a combination of post and batten with two-wire electric.

Soil comprises Waerenga clay and silt loams. Supplements made onfarm in 2013-14 included 4.84ha silage, 2.15ha greenfeed maize and 304 hay bales.

The three dwellings are four-bedroom, three-bedroom and two-bedroom homes.

The main residence features a separate kitchen, lounge, and dining, flowing into an outdoor entertainment area. It is just over 10 years old.

The two older houses are a project for the new owners.

The property is made up of two-thirds flat to rolling land and one-third rolling.

Multiple opportunities for outdoor pursuits including golf, hunting, equestrian, tramping, fishing and trail biking are nearby.

The property will be auctioned on April 30.
