Oapui has a dairy unit that produced 209,163kg milksolids last season, as well as deer, beef, and sheep production on a farm incorporating 11 titles.

Mark Monckton, from Bayleys Taranaki, said the farm was owned by a family that had begun with a small holding late in the 1800s, growing its land base and diversity over time, with the dairy added in 2008.

“Options are here to continue farming the property as it is or to simplify the operation and reduce the number of stock classes to concentrate on dairy production and support.”

Located at Tarata, 22km from Inglewood, the farm was predominantly rolling contour with stands of mature native trees that provided an attractive backdrop to everyday working life on the farm, Monckton said.

Six kilometres of road frontage provides ample access to the farm, with an underpass on a no-exit road linking the network of laneways.

Infrastructure includes a modern 50-bail rotary dairy with in-dairy feeding, numerous haysheds, two woolsheds, and a deer complex.

Three well-located houses include a four-bedroom home built in 1987 set among mature native trees, a four-bedroom brick home, and a three-bedroom home.

About 22ha of the farm has a Queen Elizabeth II covenant and 20ha is planted in pine trees with cutting rights to 17ha.

Tenders for the farm close on November 12. For further information contact Monckton on 06 759 5284 or 021 724 833. It can be viewed at www.bayleys.co.nz/521713.
