What a Biden win could mean for NZ After more than 24 hours of watching the United States election still hasn’t been won, though it appears Joe Biden has the upper hand as the last of the votes are counted.
Reading Time: < 1 minute

A Biden win would probably be good news for New Zealand food producers who’ve lobbied for free and fair global trade for decades.

Donald Trump’s trade war with China and rejection of unilateral deals has slowed progress on free trade and Biden would probably look to curb those nationalistic tendencies.

Today the US officially pulled out of the Paris climate agreement, but Biden will join it again if elected, which is also good news for the world.

Still, court action seems likely as Trump tries to hold on to power, so the waiting will go on a little longer.

The world is watching.
