While it’s early days, the fact that buyers are seeing a path to a profitable business is a good sign after the caution of recent years.
Regulatory reform coming on the back of a few years of lower returns had dented the appetite of buyers, many of whom didn’t believe the land prices matched the return on investment.
But with the election over, most of the regulations in place and farming’s resilience through covid-19, perhaps the market will begin to kick off – buoyed by those who can see a good future on the land.
