Milk flows freely in October

Avatar photo
Milk production in NZ during the month of October 2013 was 5.8% higher than the same month in 2012. The data released by the Dairy Companies Association of NZ for October brings season to date growth in production to 6.6%.  Favourable weather conditions resulted in the very strong start to the production season. Milk intakes reached their seasonal peak in October and have since begun to retreat. The rate of growth across the early summer period is expected to ease back relative to last season before increasing again during the autumn.
