Lincoln appoints adjunct professor

Environmental economist Professor Quentin Grafton has been appointed an adjunct professor at Lincoln University. Grafton is currently director of the Food, Energy, Environment and Water Network (FEEW) and Professor of Economics at the Crawford School of Public Policy at the Australian National University.

He will work as a mentor for young academics and provide support and direction to staff and postgraduates on research publications and external funding applications.

FEEW is a non-profit organisation made up of 40 expert volunteers from universities and NGOs from around the world.

Grafton is a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences of Australia (FASSA), the founder of the Global Water Forum and editor-in-chief of Policy Forum.

As part of his role at Lincoln he will also take part in seminar series and lectures in courses offered by the Faculty of Agribusiness and Commerce, and take part in and provide advice on the organisation of research workshops and conferences and media engagement.

At a seminar on Thursday, February 19, he will talk on his co-authored paper, Food and water gaps to 2050: Preliminary Results from the Global food and Water System (GFWS) Platform, which reviews the pressures, threats and risks to national food and water availability based on projected global population growth to 2050.

He will also participate in the inaugural workshop, Global Resilience Challenge and the FEEW, on the same day.
