Applications are open for one Northland recipient to have their Kellogg Rural Leadership course paid for by Whangarei A&P Society. The scholarship is to assist with growing Northland’s tomorrow leaders in the primary sector.

Andy Mouritz, the first recipient of the scholarship, is nearing the end of his Kellogg journey and has described the experience as a journey of personal growth and learning.

“The networks you make on the course are amazing and the opportunities; you get to question how leaders in the sector got to where they are and what makes them successful leaders in their field is invaluable. I’m loving the course and how much I’ve learnt and grown already. It has exceeded my expectations and I know as I work through my project it will continue to do so,” he said.

Andy thanked Whangarei A&P Society for allowing him to attend the course in Lincoln and supporting him financially. He also encourages others not to hesitate and to get their applications in.

“I highly recommend the programme to anyone looking to develop and test themselves as well as learn from some of the most respected people in the primary sector,” he said.

Northlanders interested in attending the Lincoln-based programme in January 2022 can apply for the $6000 scholarship now. Applications close October 22, which allows for processing and interview prior to the course closing date on November 14.

To apply, applicants must send a covering letter explaining why they would like to complete the programme, along with the completed Kellogg Rural Leadership Programme application form to business@wap.org.nz
