Just under 300 weaners were penned at Kauroa last Thursday with a smaller bench of buyers in place though agents with orders kept competition strong, PGG Wrightson agent Vaughn Larsen reported. Autumn-born Charolais-cross steers returned $1045 with same breed heifers at $620-$720. Smaller weaner Angus-Hereford steers managed $540-$645 and similar weighted beef-cross heifers, $515-$600.
