A smaller yarding of 135 cattle was on offer at Kaikohe last Wednesday, with dry conditions and reduced schedules softening the market, PGG Wrightson agent Vaughan Vujcich reported.

The handful of yearling steers made $3.00/kg. Weaner dairy-beef bulls fetched $400-$450, with heifers at $360-$400.

Lighter boner cows traded at $1.40/kg, and heavier types reached $1.60/kg.
