Irripod reduces effort

Local fittings company Hansen Products displayed the user-friendly effluent component system called Irripod Plus at the Northland Field Days.
Reading Time: < 1 minute

Designed to operate at low pressure (2-4 bar) Irripod distributes effluent water on a slow absorption rate over 12 or 24 hours, eliminating pooling or run-off.

It commonly consists of 18 pod sprinklers in three lines of six, at 20m centres, covering about 100m by 50m of pasture or 0.5ha with one shift.

The Senniger sprinklers can take nozzles ranging from 4mm to 5.6mm, which lay down 2.34mm/hr to 4.68mm/hr or about 50mm to 100mm over 24 hours.

A typical Irripod layout can be repositioned simply and safely while operating with very little effort using an ATV.

Positioning is usually determined by markers on the fence lines and irrigation lines are picked up using tow hooks and ropes.

The pods have wire clips over the top to prevent sprinkler damage during movement or from livestock.

Hansen Products also displayed its new range of Easy Fit Compression Fittings for use with medium-density polyethylene pipe and the Hansen Han-Tool to help determine which Easy Fit fitting will fit the pipe.

They come in a range of sizes from 16mm to 110mm and are pressure rated to 16 bar.
